CD Release by Alexander Orchestra with Brian Kelly on piano

I'm very proud to appear on the debut CD by Alexander Orchestra, Opus Everlasting. Violinist Alex Sneicki has created some memorably melodic and richly-textured music. The style could be described as Classical Crossover / World-Music. My piano playing is featured in 7 tracks. I very much enjoyed the magical synergy of our work together. Among my favorite tracks are: "One Last Look" and "Ocean Song".

Please... take a LISTEN & SUPPORT independent music.

CD Review of Pools of Light/Brian Kelly on SmoothJazz.com

Here's an excerpt from the review:

"...POOLS OF LIGHT is a lush, sparkling journey into a beautiful world of elegant melodies and brilliant artistry. The music rises and falls in powerful, yet gentle, waves of emotion... a totally captivating collection of original compositions that range from delicate, heartfelt solo piano ("Home At Last" and "Speak Your Heart") to ensemble performances that are full of dynamic tonal color and intricacies. My favorites include the breezy "Open Sky," the engaging, jazzy "Cool Blue," and the equally jazzy and tasty "When the Stars Align." ... he translates complex emotions into engaging musical experiences that both captivate and inspire. I highly recommend Brian Kelly's POOLS OF LIGHT as a collection of music that I am confident will find a permanent place in the "most-played" section of your music library!" Read the entire review.

NEW: Piano Podcast & Video

PianoPodcasts.net
I've launched a new website called PianoPodcasts.net. This is yet another way to share my music and expand my audience. PianoPodcasts will feature Solo Piano and Piano Instrumental music from independent contemporary artists in diverse styles, as well as recordings of my own work. In the first "episode" I start things off with 3 un-released pieces of my own (April Sky, Circles in Air, Reach for the Stars). Next month's episode will feature music by other artists I think you'll find worth listening to. The Piano Podcasts can be found at PianoPodcasts.net and in the "Music" category at these locations:

NAR Lifestyle Music Awards...
My promise to you: I will never release a Christmas album.

Video on my site...
Here's a Quicktime video of me playing "Cool Blue" (track 3 from Pools of Light) at Borders Books & Music in Valencia, CA on Mar. 11, 2005. It captures all of the "ambience" of the venue: the sound of the cappuccino machine, people talking in the background, people walking in the foreground... I'm doing my best to tune it all out. It takes a few minutes to download, so please be patient. [Thanks to David Kobrin for shooting the video.]

In the studio...
In March I begin recording the Live instrument tracks for my next album. Featured instruments include: flute, trumpet, guitar, percussion.
I have a big head-start on my forthcoming Solo Piano album: the songs have been selected and the sheet music will be completed sometime in April. However, the CD will not be released until early 2007 and the sheet music will be officially published a month later.
